Ina Garten is an acclaimed American writer of cook books over the decades. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina started writing policy and nuclear energy documents in the White House. She initially found her career to be intellectually stimulating, however she soon lost interest, and opened a speciality store for food known as Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the store extremely successful before selling it off and grabbing a pen to begin writing her first book. The other cookbooks came out, as magazines too. Her Food Network TV show also debuted with great hit. In addition, she sells a variety of items ranging from cooking materials to equipment and storage containers. Ina never went to a cookery school nor worked in a restaurant. She is entirely self-taught. Her relaxed approach to entertaining as well as her simple culinary style is widely known.
